Please keep in mind that tours are limited to a maximum of 25 participants. For a booked tour, the leader of the tour group and the bus driver are admitted when they accompany the group. Please provide the name and contact information of the tour group leader/bus driver when booking your tour.

EXHIBITION GUIDES / TOUR AND GUEST LICENSES 

Exhibition guides
Exhibition guides are individuals who possess the qualifications and training to convey content and contextual information about the collection, projects, displays and the museums within the State Exhibition in an appropriate mode and form.

Guide licenses
A license is required to guide guests through the State Exhibition. To obtain a license, prospective guides must pass a licensing examination for the State Exhibition (successfully complete training). The license is valid for the duration of the State Exhibition.

Guest license
Permission to guide guests through the State Exhibition may also be obtained in the form of a guest license, which is limited to a specific guided tour and a specific date. Guest licenses are subject to a fee. The fee is equivalent to half of the guided tour fee.

In addition to exhibition guides, individuals involved with educational institutions may also obtain guest licenses for a specific date free of charge. These individuals include:

Schoolteachers who will accompany their students
Scholars at universities and colleges who are authorized to provide academic instruction
Individuals who have completed a university degree in art history, theology or history

 Proof of qualifications must be submitted in writing to the Service Office when booking a tour. 

AUDIO GUIDES
Audio guides for the “Lucas Cranach the Younger – Discovery of a Master” exhibition at the Augusteum are available in German and English.
